Joseph B. “Barney” Walton, a native of New Jersey, began his Real Estate sales career as a young man in Monmouth, N.J. Walton left New Jersey after attaining Listing Agent of the Year recognition and began a long career in sales in Indiana. With his most recent affiliation with DOC Real Estate in Greenwood, IN, Walton has listed and sold commercial and residential properties throughout the Indianapolis Metropolitan area.
Though Walton was educated as an engineer at the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne, IN, Walton said he is happy to be working in the real estate field. “I’d rather work with people than widgets and gidgets,” said Walton.
Walton and Scott have formed The DOC Team, combining their backgrounds, education, experience, specialties and personalities into an arrangement that synergizes their strengths and has resulted in many commercial and residential listings and closings since they partnered in 2006. Their in-depth training includes courses in Real Estate Practice, Economics, Financing, Property Management, Legal Aspects, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Investments, Ethics, Exchanges, Taxation and Creative Financing, plus all the Broker classes for Scott.
In the current down market, the DOC team has sold $4,000,000 in real estate since January, 2008.
