Joe “The DOC” Bottorff has 25 years’ experience in Real Estate, and has run his own company in Greenwood, IN for almost 20 years. Before he began DOC Real Estate, Joe was named Realtor of the Year for the State of Indiana.
As a CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and an EcoBroker® (promoting ‘green’ living practices), Joe can offer his clients additional expertise in both residential real estate and in environmentally and economically sound building and maintenance practices in both the home and the office.
Also a board member of IREX (Indiana Real Estate Exchange), Joe stays in touch with commercial real estate activities in the state, particularly in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area.
In addition to his real estate career, Joe has a co-career as a Methodist minister and a background as a teacher of classical languages. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bridges of Hope, a philanthropic group that provides mission services to underdeveloped countries in the western hemisphere. He and his wife Georgia take a mission trip every year to one of the areas under the Bridges of Hope umbrella.
Joe earned his BA from Hanover College, Indiana, and his Masters Degree from Durham University of England and Methodist Theological School of Ohio. He earned his Doctor of Ministry from the Consortium for Higher Education Religion Studies of Ohio.
While his qualifications are lofty, Joe is a down to earth person. His sole purpose at any given time is to bring all his knowledge and experience to the table wherever his assistance is needed. His ready smile and warm personality, his calm and unruffled demeanor, along with his enthusiasm for life have helped many people achieve their goals, meet their needs and overcome adversity.

Heather Scott has been in Real Estate since 1999, joining her Dad, Joe Bottorff, in his business at DOC Real Estate. Achieving Broker status in 2000, Scott was appointed Principal Broker by her father at DOC Real Estate in 2004. Now the father and daughter lead the agency together, helping their 60 agents achieve success, too.
Born in Durham, England, Scott has lived in the U.S. for most of her life. She graduated from the University of Evansville and studied in England for one year as part of her undergraduate coursework.
Scott is part of the DOC Team, the other member being Joseph “Barney” Walton, REALTOR®. They combined their backgrounds, education, experience, specialties and personalities into an arrangement that synergizes their strengths and has resulted in many commercial and residential listings and closings since they partnered in 2006. Joseph B. “Barney” Walton, a native of New Jersey, began his Real Estate sales career as a young man in Monmouth, N.J. Walton left New Jersey after attaining Listing Agent of the Year recognition and began a long career in sales in Indiana. With his most recent affiliation with DOC Real Estate in Greenwood, IN, Walton has listed and sold commercial and residential properties throughout the Indianapolis Metropolitan area.
